Description
The 920 Cherry Street Project was a part of a comprehensive redevelopment of a three-acre site located at the intersection of Cherry Street SE and Cherry Drive SE in the city of Grand Rapids. The plan consisted of 37 new for-sale homes, 5,000 square feet of commercial space and the redevelopment of the historic D.A. Blodgett Home. The project was designated to a "Cool Cities" project by Governor Granholm. The entire project was developed on a collaborative basis through a joint venture of Second Story Properties and Baddani Associations Inc. The New Markets Tax Credit allocation from Michigan Community Capital was specific to the historic redevelopment of the D.A. Blodgett Home into the new headquarters for the Inner City Christian Federation. The Inner City Christian Federation (ICCF) headquarters consisted of the renovation of the 31,000-square-foot building to house the administrative office for ICCF and its affilated organizations, and provided program and classrom space for ICCF's program.
