WHO WE ARE

Michigan Community Capital is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that exists to promote community and economic development, the creation of wealth and job opportunities; and to facilitate investment of private and public capital in Michigan. At our core, we are focused on driving economic mobility of low- and moderate-income Michigan residents and communities.

WHAT WE DO

At Michigan Community Capital, we direct our resource to projects that create or preserve affordable and attainable (middle-income) housing; expand access to quality healthy food in underserved markets; and create accessible and quality jobs in low- and moderate-income communities. Specifically, we:

  • Develop for-sale and rental affordable and attainable housing. Our rental properties are held long-term and managed on-site by MCC staff.
  • Finance mission-focused projects with New Markets Tax Credits and Community Development Finance Institution lending products.

Our Projects

Michigan Community Capital (MCC) is a non-profit diversified public-private partnership that supports the missions of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) by aggregating capital and facilitating the financing and development of low-income and attainable housing, and the redevelopment of complex brownfield sites within the State of Michigan.
