Eric Hanna


President and CEO

Eric joined Michigan Community Capital in 2017 as president and CEO. He is responsible for cultivating a culture of professionalism and collaboration among MCC’s high-performing team. He leads fundraising, public policy and advocacy, as well as managing board and investor relations.

Before joining MCC, Eric worked in the private, public, and non-profit sectors, including roles in consumer and commercial banking and with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. He has been instrumental in drafting both state and federal legislation focused on community economic development and small business capital support.

Eric holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Policy from the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs, where he was an Evans Scholar. He also holds an MBA from the University of Liverpool in the UK.

In addition to his role at MCC, Eric actively volunteers as the chair of Neighborhood Capital Funding, a non-profit mortgage loan servicer supporting over 7,000 Habitat for Humanity families. He is a former volunteer treasurer for Habitat for Humanity of Detroit and an ex officio board member for Habitat for Humanity of Michigan. Eric also volunteers as the treasurer for the Old Town Commercial Association, a National and Michigan Main Street organization leading community organizing and redevelopment effort in Old Town Lansing.

Eric resides in Haslett, MI, with his wife, daughters, and their Rottweiler, Olive.
